The Klein 53443 Ship-Auger Bit with Screw Point features a 1-1/8-Inch bit and a 15-Inch twist length. It drills through nails, wood, vinyl, plastics, and heavy timber. The special bit steel has machine-ground flutes and polished edges for smooth, wobble-free boring, and the feed-screw pilot draws the bit into wood. Its full length is heat-treated and tempered, and the deep, open-throat design clears chips for faster, cleaner cuts. Shanks are 7/16-Inch hex to fit 1/2-Inch and larger three-jaw chucks.
